Kolkata Rista is a transgender community-based organization(CBO) that has, over the last 16 years, worked in the states of West Bengal,Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, for the protection of rights and welfareof various groups of non-normative sexual orientation and gender identity.Kolkata Rista is run by members of these communities themselves and representsan approach sensitive to the experiences of exclusion and marginalization facedby working class trans persons.
